The Grade II-listed Coed y Mwstwr takes you off the beaten track in style, set on a wooded hillside with views across the Vale of Glamorgan countryside to the north Devon coast.
Once a busy Victorian family home, it still retains a relaxed feel that welcomes you as soon as you step inside. With stylish contemporary interiors complementing its classic period features, the Coed is as perfect for a chilled weekend as for an enchanting wedding, ideal for an indulgent afternoon tea a deux or a lazy Sunday lunch with the whole tribe.
You can shop till you drop in the neighbouring historic market town of Cowbridge, or easily head to Cardiff with its award-winning shopping centre and Victorian arcades.
We can recommend the best places to explore the stunning coast and countryside on our doorstep – and you’re welcome to bring the dog. You don’t even have to leave the grounds - simply meander through our wood where, legend has it, a cave once hid King Arthur’s body.
Then head back to relax in front of the fire or in the gardens with something special from our well-stocked bar before choosing from our contemporary Welsh menu.

We love dogs, and we’re happy you’ve brought your furry friend with you! Please don’t hesitate to give us a call, or send an email if you need anything regarding your four-footed friend. The fee for a dog is £25 per dog per stay.
A welcome pack, food bowl and water bowl is provided. Bowls are to be left in the room on your departure. Dogs are permitted in the bar area of the hotel. Breakfast can be served in the lounge area on request.
Whether you are staying with us of popping up for a drink, why not try our new doggy menu including selected favourite dog meals and doggy cocktails to accompany. Our dog menu can be found here.
There is a maximum of two dogs per room or apartment . Pets must be supervised at all times and must be on a lead in public places.
Sausages may be sniffed out at breakfast for good boys and girls!
